“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
This is your season to be planted, to flourish, and, most importantly, to grow.
“Big or small, your dreams are worth pursuing.”
You may have been struggling with a dream or a goal of yours as of late. It may seem as if everyone else is prospering without effort, except you. You know you put in the same amount of hard work, late hours, and dedication as they do (maybe even more), yet still you see no real progress. And I get it. Trust me. But now I need you to just breathe in deeply and slowly exhale – because it is your time. This is your season to harvest all that you have sowed in the past days, months, or even years. I want you to know that your personal famine is coming to an end. God is ready to prosper you. He’s ready to send you flying off like an arrow into your great destiny. The bow is drawn and the arrow is set, but… He’s waiting on you. I will be sharing with you what God has laid on my heart.
This message is for you, dreamer.
“Humble yourselves, therefor under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”
1 Peter 5:6
A humble person is “not proud or haughty”, neither “arrogant or assertive.” Many people are unaware of how prideful and arrogant they actually are at heart when it comes to assistance and further guidance. How can you allow God to move in your life if you’re always in the way? If you are parent and have little ones, then you can probably understand how our heavenly Father may view our behavior. For example, yesterday my son, who is a toddler mind you, was trying to figure out how to work one of his toys. At first, he was rather patient. Flipping the toy around and inspecting it diligently. After awhile, I tried to show him how it worked, but he was persistent in keeping my hand away. So amused, I watched him continue on. A few more minutes in and he began to get even more frustrated. For sure, he had seen all the other kids playing with it and it had worked for them. I try to show him again and again until he finally let’s me. I simply said “Look” and flipped the very obvious switch to activate the toy. His eyes lit up with joy and now he too knew how to work his toy. This is how we usually operate. We have a dream, we pursue it, see no progress, become frustrated, and soon many of us abandon the dream altogether. All the while God is trying to tell us to just “Look” so He can assist us, but we refuse to seek his help, let alone, receive his all-knowing wisdom. This is why humility is important, and prayer must follow…
“Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
So in order to hold conversation with our heavenly Father we kinda have to, ya know, talk to Him. That’s where prayer comes in – our 24/7 communication line. Get into the habit of praying over your dream. Ask and believe God for it (according to His will), and the Bible says it will be yours. What a promise! I have had a few goals for awhile now, including running a blog. Every time I tried to do it myself and trust in my own talents, it flopped and I gave up. However, as soon as I started handing all my desires and needs over to God, the blessings started flowing. It’s like my creativity was unleashed, my talents were strengthened, and my future was limitless.
Just remember the second part of prayer is listening. Listen out for His instruction. Sometimes you will hear Him directly, other times through scriptures, and many times through signs all around you. Just be on the lookout. God does speak to those who willfully listen.
Don’t be afraid to water your dreams with prayer!
Change our Environment.
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.”
Psalm 1:1 (NLT)
Be mindful of the people you surround yourself with and the places you go. Majority of the time you will share your dreams with another and that person will instead of encouraging you, begin to point out all the hardships, how unqualified they believe you are, and basically try to talk you down from your goals in life. Pessimist have no room in your future. You have to let those family, friends, and associates who bring you down stay at a far far away distance. Protect your dream at all cost. God gave it to you. He gave you that vision for a reason. Your passion is not a mistake. But yet, surround yourself with people who are going to support you and help lift you up. Also socialize with people who may be pursuing the same goal or are experts in that field. This is crucial. You are a plant. If you plant yourself amongst weeds (negative Nancies and Debby downers) your dream is bound to die eventually. You cannot flourish under these conditions. Your choice of surroundings is a detrimental part of your dream. Plant yourself around other flowers (believers and dreamers).
And for my fellow young dreamers:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
“He is like a tree plated by the streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”
Commit. Commit wholeheartedly and fully to your dream. What’s the point of having goals if you have no ambition to see them through? Ask God for strength and courage. Be bold in your stance. No one else is going to fight for your dream like you are. Commit your time, energy, and creativity in to your vision. It’s an investment for the future harvest. Your dream is your baby. Attend to it. If you be planted and continuously attend to God’s work, he will surely reward you. So right now, begin to think of a game plan. Work out a schedule and set aside time. Commit. Commit. Commit.
“Plant you roots in Christ and let Him be the foundation of your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful.”
“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”
And when you have done all you can do and have trusted in God, you will begin to see the fruit of your labor. Your dream has come alive. Simply, be thankful and enjoy all your hardwork this harvest. God has given you favor.
Be An Encourager.
Now that you are prospering, help others. Show them what God can do! Be mindful that God is the one who blesses us. Be a spiritual mentor. Empowered people empower people!
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11
