What is your reality?
Think about this question for a moment. Truly examine where you are in your life and your current circumstances. How is it? How is your life coming along? Get real with yourself. No one is going to know. Have you been asking God for a healing? Have people been giving you a hard time? Maybe you have been waiting years for a promotion? What is it? Dig deep. Take your time.
And… yet again, maybe your life is perfect. And that’s awesome! Praise God! This week’s blog may not be for you.
Now for those of you who can admit that your circumstances may not be ideal right now, keep your answer to that question above in the back of your mind. I will ask you again at the end of this blog and let us see what your answer looks like then.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Recently, I had been praying to God over a lot of areas in my life. From healing, to prosperity, to being a better parent, etc. And for awhile I had begin to feel like God was ignoring me. I knew He was there. I felt His presence. I knew He was listening. But why was He not replying? Why did I feel like my prayers were like boomerangs going out only to return to me? So at first, I tried to remain in good faith and patience as we are told. But as my problems kept piling up, I was starting to get confused and slightly frustrated. But I kept reading God’s word and suddenly something finally just clicked inside my spirit. And it was so obvious…
Can I face palm myself?
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
So let me let you all in on this little secret because God is the same God from back then as He is now.
You already have it. You know, the power to declare prosperity in your life? You have it. The divine dominion to speak victory over your circumstances? You have it. The God-given right to claim every blessing that God has waiting for you? It’s yours! Take it! Let me elaborate. I had been praying to God about things he had already given me the power over. The first time I asked was good enough for Him; I just needed to speak out in faith and declare my healing, speak my blessing, claim my prosperity. It was and still is already mine. God has given us power over the enemy. The devil did not have my blessing, I did.
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
God hears you. He has not forgotten nor forsaken you. He’s just been waiting on YOU – His child – to realize that He has already provided you with everything you need to conquer this world and the things of it.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
If you have not been reading your Bible, I encourage you to find it, dust it off, and get involved. I am not judging you. I’ve been there. My Bible probably was out of sight for a whole year, if not longer. Trust me, I get it. But that is how Satan likes to keep you – powerless, clueless, and vision-less.
The Bible is many things – ALL great and ALL true. It is our sword in this spiritual battle. It is our power, our wisdom, our guide, our conviction, and much more. It is needed! Yes, praying is important, but so is reading God’s word. How can we love a God we do not even wish to get to know? I have currently started rereading my Bible. I have planned to delight in His word – everyday. And it amazes me still how much I missed the times I read it before. I have gained so much spiritual knowledge and courage through God’s word. It is given to us for a reason. When you pray, recite it. When the doctors are telling you the opposite of what you have been praying for, remember God’s promises. When you are feeling as if you are one more issue away before given up, speak it from your heart. Do not wait until you are at that point of breaking down… Pick it up now. Pick up your sword now. Put on your armor now. Your Father in Heaven has equipped you.
“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 2:5
Everyday people are dying. No matter the age, no matter the place, no matter the cause. The time is now to get to know our loving Father in Heaven and unleash the power within. I have seen God move. I have seen God work. I have seen Him make things – great and small- happen. He is alive. His word is alive.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Now back to the beginning, I’m going to ask you again the same question…
What is your reality?
Are you life’s victim or are you a victor through Christ Jesus? It’s up to you. Proclaim it this very moment in faith. Just a change of perspective will change your life. I am no longer begging God to do things for me as if I am spiritually crippled. I have been made whole. You know, it reminds me of the photo that circulated the internet a few years back of the horse tied to a plastic chair not knowing all along he could move. He was clueless of his strength. If only the horse knew. If only we as Christians the strength God gives us. Our problems and requests would look like nothing. We just have to trust in God completely and stand up in His name to every circumstance that is unfavorable in our lives.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:”
Let us pray:
Hallelujah. Glory to be unto Your name, Jesus. We come to You in prayer and power today, Jehovah-Jireh (God, our provider). We ask that You may find mercy to forgive us where we have doubted You. Now that we know of the power You have given us, we declare to walk in Your truth and boldness. Thank you for Your strength. Thank You for Your word. We love you, we worship you, and we lift Your name above all the Earth. It says in Your word that we should pray without ceasing. That anything we ask according to Your will and believing we will receive. To God be all the glory, the power, and the honor.
In Jesus’ glorious name. Amen.
I love you all dearly – even if you are not a believer. I pray for you still. I love you yet still. And God does too. I am not a prophet. I am not a preacher. Just someone like you. Let us keep spreading power, love, and peace in the name of Jesus. Let us keep each other in prayer in this chaotic world. Let us listen to the broken. Let’s stand up for the homeless. Let us be voices for the oppressed. We have the power. You have the power.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Big news, y’all! I will be adding a list of scriptures to my site that you may use for different areas of your life while praying. I have been working on it for a bit now and wish to share it with you when I am finished. I encourage you to share it as well and even print it out for your personal prayer space. Check out the site again this Friday for the complete list! ❤
Peace and blessings.
